Ronaldo Martins da Costa

Associate Professor - Head of Research Group

Ronaldo Martins da Costa is a professor at the Institute of Informatics at the Federal University of Goiás, Brazil, where he leads a research group composed of doctoral, master and undergraduate students who develop research applying Artificial Intelligence in the areas of Medicine and Agriculture.
He received his M.Sc. in Computer Science from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) in 2002. In 2010, he received his doctorate in Electrical Engineering from the University of São Paulo (USP). From 2014 to 2015 he did a postdoctoral internship at the Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey, US.

From 1991 to 2010 he worked at the sanitation company in Bauru (São Paulo-Brazil) reaching the position of Director of Information Technology of the company. From 2001 to 2010 he also served as professor and coordinator of the Computer Science course at Unisagrado.

In 2010, he began to dedicate himself exclusively to the activity of researcher and professor at the Institute of Informatics (INF) in Federal University of Goiás (UFG), where he works as sub coordinator of the doctorate program in partnership with the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul and teaches classes in undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
